Russel Brand: revolution
"Russell Brand wants YOU to join the revolution.

We all know the system isn't working. Our governments are corrupt and the opposing parties pointlessly similar. Our culture is filled with vacuity and pap, and we are told there's nothing we can do - "it's just the way things are".

In this book, Russell Brand hilariously lacerates the straw men and paper tigers of our conformist times and presents, with the help of experts as diverse as Thomas Piketty and George Orwell, a vision for a fairer, sexier society that's fun and inclusive.

You have been lied to, told there's no alternative, no choice and that you don't deserve any better. Brand destroys this illusory facade as amusingly and deftly as he annihilates Morning Joe anchors, Fox News fascists and BBC stalwarts"

Am I the only one who is absolutely ashamed that this cunt professes to be a West Ham fan?

He always had addictive tendancies, the drugs, the sex and now it seems he is going through a real messiah complex.... i do worry about his state of mind sometimes..however, he does bring outside interest to the club like when his ex-wife was pictured in West Ham lingerie so all is not that bad

Im proud he is West Ham

What do you want, every single West Ham to have the same view on every single thing?

While we are at it, why don't we all get the same haircut and wear the same trainers?

Knob.

Re: Russel Brand: revolution
He is overplaying things a bit as a full blown conspiracy theory but there is some truth to what he highlights. There is no one else really using the media to highlight what is a serious problem with the distribution of wealth. A touch of Marxist / Trotsky about it all but nonetheless he is right to warn of civil unrest in the States and some other parts of the developed World as the rich 0.01% now own over half the global wealth and 56 people own some enormous portion of wealth and we in the UK, are being served by representatives from a 7% elite of the population.

Im not sure about revolution but some rebalancing is needed and hence a fairer distribution of wealth and resources?

Re: Russel Brand: revolution
Why would you be ashamed that Brand is a Hammers fan ?.
Too intelligent for you ?
He thinks outside of the box ?
He has balls the size of mountains ?
He has more big words in his vocabulary than you do words ?
He is not blindly Nationalistic ?
He is not stupidly racist ?
He believes nothing most governments say before researching and taking it in to his developed brain ?
I do not care about him being a hammer i just wish more human beings were like him.

anyone can employ big words hairy, you tool. Its having a coherent argument behind those words that matters. You obviously havent worked out that there isnt one.

He is coherent enough to me and millions of others too.
I may not be a supporter of revolution just yet but free speech in intelligent form does not frighten me.

Re: Russel Brand: revolution
His comedy isn't my cup of tea, and he is the doppelganger of a bloke who beat the bejesus out of me once, so I have a bit of a negative visceral reaction when I see an image of him (but obviously that isn't Brand's fault) plus he is very naive with all this silly politicking, and I can't see much evidence for him being especially super intelligent, but...

I am glad he is successful, because it makes a pleasant change that he isn't some privileged, privately educated offspring of someone famous who has been catapulted into fame on the back of whose kid they are and other contacts.

So good luck to the chap.

Sir Alf 3:36 Sat Oct 18

You certainly have a point about the distribution of wealth in terms of the ultra rich and about political representation. Whilst on it last night with a mate from yorkshire, we talked about the political background of a typical labour politician these days as compared with even just ten years ago, when there were people like Prescott and Johnson who came into the party via the trades unions and the grammar system. Ironic really that labour closed the grammar schools, thus depriving that party of some of its greatest leaders. In the absence of this type of person, labour has just become the tories in essence with a leftist face. Its no wonder that their old voting base is turning toward nationalist parties, because theyve finally given up on the idea that labour is the party of the working man.

I quite please that he is West Ham. I relate to what he says and I make him right on almost all of it.

Re: Russel Brand: revolution
Totally agree that it is all done for attention and that he is a very shallow sub human with very few true friends due to his personality disorder and sexual deviance.

But listen, he is going to continue posting these threads so we might as well get used to it.
